Woodvale Secondary College (SC) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher – Design and Technology to join their school.
The Teacher – Design and Technology will be responsible for delivery of the school’s programs in line with the Western Australia Curriculum. The successful applicant will ideally be highly motivated and passionate about working with students. Using key instructional and differentiation strategies, the successful applicant will use their excellent understanding of the Western Australian design and technology Curriculum to meet the academic needs of all learners. Working in close collaboration with other teaching staff, the successful applicant should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team environment to develop effective teaching and learning programs. Teaching expertise in Metal Work and Building Construction will be highly regarded.

Woodvale SC is located some 20 kilometres north of the city of Perth and has approximately 1400 students from Years 7 to 12. The College enjoys the expertise of highly trained staff and the stability of small staff turnover. In recent years the College has provided many nominations for the WA Education Awards
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
