Dianella Secondary College (SC) is seeking a highly professional, passionate, and innovative Teacher – Home Economics to join their Technology and Enterprise educational team.

As our Home Economics Teacher, you will ideally have the experience and necessary skills to teach across a broad range of Home Economics subject areas and have the requisite expertise in delivering Vocational Education and Training programs across Year 7 to Year 12. This includes an ability to teach Certificate II in Cookery and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. In addition, you will have a high level of knowledge and an understanding of the Western Australia Curriculum in Food Technology and the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) in Food Science and Technology courses. Experience in industry and/or delivering Vocational Education and Training programs, is considered highly desirable.

You should also possess the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and will have the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to our school community. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
