Ardross Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Japanese Language Teacher who pursues excellence in teaching languages, to join their friendly team.
Applicants with a strong understanding of the Languages other than English (LOTE) Western Australian Curriculum are encouraged to apply.
The successful applicant should possess the ability to plan for school improvement using and responding to all data sources, ensuring curriculum and pedagogical development is current and ongoing. They will ideally be flexible, adaptive and able to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and intentional teaching, providing a positive learning environment where students are inspired and motivated to learn.
Our pastoral care whole school approaches ensure each student is engaged, belongs and feels connected to our school. Knowledge, understanding and experience in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is highly desirable. The successful applicant should be a passionate, motivated and skilled educator who is committed to improving learning outcomes for every child, every day, through our whole school approaches, explicit teaching and instructional strategies.
At Ardross PS we work as a team to support our students to successfully develop their dispositions for learning such as, curiosity, openness, optimism, resilience, concentration and, critical and creative thinking.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
