Appointment Pool
Morley Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic and motivated Technical Support Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year and up to Term 1, 2024.
Morley (SHS) are seeking enthusiastic Technical Support Officers to work in a small team to support our school in offering a quality education for our students.
The school recognises the need to prepare students for a rapidly changing world where technology plays an increasing role in students' everyday lives. the school has a BYOD program, and every classroom is equipped with Interactive White Boards. The school utilises the department's online learning management system, Connect, Microsoft 365 and other third-party software including Compass and ClickView.
Suitable Technical Support Officers will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance of information systems and Information Communication Technology (ICT) equipment in accordance with the school's business needs and the Department of Education policies and guidelines. this includes maintaining accurate records of ICT assets and resources. The successful applicant will ideally be able to strategize and prioritise to ensure the timely completion of work, whilst continually providing high quality support to students and staff.
Ideally, the suitable applicants will have the ability to work effectively as part of a team, well -developed interpersonal skills liaise with other Department of Education personnel and communicate with external service providers. A proactive approach with strong conceptual, organizational and analytical skills is highly desirable. Experience working with a school would be highly desirable and in particular a thorough understanding of standard operating systems and mobile devices with their associated software. You will work with a diverse range of people and professionals to deliver customer service. The ability to build strong working relationships and to work well with key stakeholders is highly desirable. Skill and experience in Windows Server operating systems, networking, ICT best practices, Interactive White Boards and DoE specific systems such as DAM, SSS and SIG would be highly desirable.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.
- Conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to develop innovative solutions to information technology problems.
- Ability to install and maintain network systems incorporating the Internet and Electronic Mail.
- Organisational skills to develop effective administrative practices and the initiative to work with minimum supervision.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course; and
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
