Churchlands Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and team-orientated teacher for a fixed term full-time vacancy for Term 3 with possible extension.

We are a strong Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) school, with a collaborative and supportive staff who work under the direction of a clearly articulated Instructional Model to guide teacher practice.
We are looking for an experienced, contemporary educator with the ability to plan for school improvement using and responding to all data sources, ensuring curriculum and pedagogical development is evidence based with a focus on having an impact of student outcomes. It will be desirable for applicants to display an understanding of evidence based learning i.e.: Talk for Writing, Seven Steps to Successful Writing and Instructional strategies and have experience in developing a learning environment that supports challenging students thinking. Successful applicants will display a commitment to ongoing professional learning and development including observation and effective feedback, and be confident in using ICT to deliver and improve student learning. We are looking for a teacher who creates a classroom where students are engaged, challenged, feel safe to take risks and are supported to learn.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
