Bungaree Primary School (PS) is seeking a dynamic Japanese Languages Teacher.
We are seeking a teacher who pursues excellence in teaching languages, has high expectations, and who truly believes that all children can learn and be successful. Ideally, the successful applicant will display a commitment to putting students first in their decision-making and provide purposeful and relevant learning experiences that cater for differentiated student learning needs as outlined in the Western Australian Curriculum. You will ideally deliver engaging and quality educational programs and believe that exemplary, evidence-based teaching practices lead to successful students and high standards of achievement.
Applicants with a strong understanding of the Languages other than English (LOTE) Western Australian Curriculum are encouraged to apply. They should also possess the ability to plan for school improvement using and responding to all data sources, ensuring curriculum and pedagogical development is current and ongoing. The successful applicant will ideally be flexible, adaptive and be able to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and intentional teaching.
We are seeking a teacher who is innovative and possesses high quality teaching skills and knowledge. You will ideally be committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and be a collegial, effective collaborator.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
