This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2023
Western Australian College of Agriculture – Denmark (the College) is seeking to appoint a motivated and creative Marketing and Administration Support Officer to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will ideally apply innovation and creativity in the development and implementation of the College marketing plan whilst assisting in the production and the sub-editing of a range of communications to ensure compliance with College and Departmental policies and guidelines.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- College printed and online publications.
- Newsletters, letters, and circulars.
- Social media promotions.
- Website updates and content creation.
- Coordination and publication of various reports and documents; and
- Creation and promotion of media releases.
The Marketing and Administration Support Officer will also assist with the coordination of College events and activities including Open Day and Primary Awareness Day.
The successful applicant will have an ability to promote the College brand, image and reputation and report to leadership on measurable objectives. As such, the possession of well-developed people skills, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with College leadership is highly regarded. The ability to maintain positive relationships with stakeholders will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will ideally have the flexibility to provide general administrative support to the College.
The College provides Year 10 to Year 12 students with a unique educational experience focused on innovation and excellence. The College is located just east of the town centre of Denmark, 420kms south of Perth. Students are offered the opportunity to achieve the best possible educational outcomes within the context of a commercially operating farm, state of the art trade training workshops, undercover equestrian facility, and a robotic dairy. The College operates at capacity with a full residential facility supplemented by local students attending as day students.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- sound written communications skills, including the ability to gather and edit material for printed and online publications.
- well-developed verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- initiative and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
- ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment to meet conflicting timeframes.
- ability to maintain multimedia platforms.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course; and
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
