North Albany Senior High School (NASHS) is seeking an enthusiastic, creative Music – Teacher to join their friendly team.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Music Teacher to continue to build the vibrant and energetic music program at NASHS. The current music program celebrates contemporary music through rock bands and ensembles.
The successful applicant will possess leadership and organisational and have the capacity to engage positively in a team environment.
The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to provide engaging, relevant, and meaningful learning. You will ideally be innovative, knowledgeable, and possess thorough understandings of instructional and curriculum expertise whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within the Learning Area. You should have high expectations, display a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies, and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive and engaging classroom-learning environment. You will ideally be able to display an ability to work as a collaborative team member and be committed to the development of strong professional learning communities focussed on student achievement and success. This role will include both classroom music and Instrumental Music School Services (IMMS) coordination and tuition, ideally in vocal teaching skills. Skills in teaching brass, woodwind or guitar would also be an advantage.
North Albany Senior High School is an independent public school located in Albany, a coastal city in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
