Cue PS is a Level 3 Primary School catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 10. Parents and volunteers are very involved in the school with regular well attended events being held throughout the year.
Cue PS has a strong whole school focus on Literacy and Numeracy and our students are making excellent progress. Programs have been implemented to provide high quality education with high expectations to support all students to reach their potential. Explicit Instruction (Initialit, Talk4Writing, Pr1me Maths) is the preferred method for delivery of curriculum at Cue School as evidence-based research shows this is the best method to support students to achieve success. Cue PS is currently developing planning to become a leading school in sustainability, STEM and are developing our own WA first, Junior Aboriginal Ranger program.
Cue PS is a fantastic workplace where a sense of collaboration and hard work is combined with the need for humour and fun in life. All teachers who have taught here in the last three years have expressed regret in leaving and their love of our students and school.
The location and community
Cue PS is located on a rise overlooking the small township of Cue. It is a heritage-listed site with the school dating back to 1896 with education being provided in the original classrooms to this day. The town has a community where caring for others counts and crime is rarely an issue. The many heritage-listed buildings and Aboriginal sites as well as gold prospecting ensures there is plenty to do for the adventurous. Cue is only a drive away from Perth, Geraldton, Karajini and Mount Augusta.
The Shire of Cue is very supportive of the school and community and frequently hosts community social events at the town hall, pub or in the many renovated buildings in town.

Testimonials
During Term 4 I had the privilege of teaching at Cue PS. I wish I had been able to stay longer!
Upon arrival I felt welcomed and within days had developed a real connection with the terrific bunch of kids that make up this unique little learning community. During my stay I enjoyed the genuine support of staff members and a principal, whose dedication to his school is unparalleled.
Yes, there were challenges and I’m quite sure I learnt as much as the students! The rewards, however, of working in such a distinctive setting were genuine. The personal satisfaction gained, easily outweighed that experienced during my lengthy career in western suburb metropolitan schools.
There’s lots to see around Cue. I fell in love with the country - so steeped in First Nation and early mining history. The teaching and life experiences to be gained from anyone lucky enough to win a position at Cue PS, will undoubtably be treasured for a lifetime.
~Kathy Reger (Teacher)
I moved to Cue as a first-year graduate in 2019. If anyone had have told me then that I would fall head over heels in love with the experience, I would not have believed them for a second. Honestly, I had every intention of going for a year to get a little bit of experience under my belt before moving back home. Little did I know that by the end of that first year, the kids, the staff, the community and you wouldn’t believe it, but even the red dirt had become so ingrained in my heart. There was no chance I was going anywhere.
The school itself is a perfect setting for anyone who is wanting to dip their toes in remote teaching. With wonderful behaviour incentives for students and good attendance rates, you really are in the best place to experience amazing relationships with some pretty awesome kids! On top of this, the school is so well resourced with excellent explicit programs in literacy and numeracy, and I was lucky enough to witness some amazing improvements from.
Neil is an amazing leader and Principal who is dedicated to making Cue Primary School a fun and welcoming environment for staff, students, and the whole community. He truly is the most incredible advocate for the students and the school, and I can guarantee that you will gain so much invaluable knowledge from him.
~Ellie Sanford (Teacher)
Having met your students, staff and community, when I read the schools moral purpose – I get goosebumps.
