Kojonup District High School (DHS) is looking for a motivated, passionate Home Economics - Teacher to join their friendly team
The successful applicant will be a dedicated and highly motivated educator with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs from Year 7 to Year 10 Home Economics: Food Specialisations. To be suitable for this role, you will ideally be student and relationship focused, innovative and able to work effectively in a team environment. You will reflect on and evaluate the effectiveness of your teaching practice using a variety of methods available within the school and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve success.

We have a proud history and have served our community since 1863. Located on the Albany Highway between Perth and Albany, our 230 students have the added bonus of a 480 acre school farm close by. The farm, as a learning space forms an integral part of our students' learning journey whilst at the school. Sustainability and pathway planning programs are influenced by our farm environment, as are waste-wise practices, animal husbandry and ‘paddock to plate’ understandings. It is expected that the Home Economics teacher will embrace the school’s developing ‘paddock to plate’ ethos.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
