The Role and our Branch
The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and committed Principal Consultant, Strategic Projects to join the Curriculum, Assessment and Strategic Policy Directorate.

Reporting to the Manager - Curriculum and Assessment, this position works with the Manager in a project management capacity to establish and track processes and deliverables for adopting and/or adapting the Australian Curriculum version 9 for the Pre-primary to Year 10 Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline. A proven ability to plan, facilitate and monitor complex projects, and ensure deliverables are met within the internal timeframe is required. The position supports collaborative processes between school systems/sectors, schools and other stakeholder organisations to share and generate ideas and monitor and review implementation processes. The position requires an individual with strong project management and organisational skills, good written communication skills, and experience developing procedural documents and establishing timelines. Experience using Microsoft Project would be an advantage. This position will work with staff across a range of teams within the Authority as well as with consultative groups.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
