Appointment Pool
Ballajura Community College (CC) is seeking to establish a pool of Humanities and Social Sciences Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2024.
We are looking for expert, passionate teachers with a commitment to excellence in teaching in their learning area. Ideally the suitable applicants will have professional knowledge, understandings and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school curriculum and have proven success to achieving exceptional educational outcomes for all students. We are looking for applicants with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
These skills should see you negotiate effectively and build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels including colleagues and parents/caregivers. Applicants should be flexible and work collaboratively with staff and students to provide an engaging and relevant learning environment to inspire and motivate students to learn.

A Department of Education endorsed specialist program for Advanced Curriculum Enrichment (ACE) operates through Years 7 to 10, promoting higher level thinking skills and academic achievement in Mathematics, English, Science and Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS). This provides a solid foundation for students entering our highly successful university pathway.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
