Ballajura Community College (CC) is seeking a talented, hardworking, dedicated and enthusiastic teacher for our Lower-School Engagement Program. The successful applicant will ideally have a proven ability to provide high quality learning experiences for all students and be willing to join our team of like-minded professionals.
The successful applicant will join in a collaborative environment where you would be teaching in two MESH areas across two classes in Years 7 and 8. Ideally this would be English and Science. However, applicants are encouraged in their application to clearly state their areas of strength and experience in said areas. Graduate teachers are also encouraged to apply.
As a suitable applicant at Ballajura CC, you will work as part of a teacher learning community to initiate and engage in professional discussions with colleagues to evaluate and improve practice. With effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students in our LINKS engagement program. The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate the ability to teach to the highest standard and to design programs that engage students in teaching and learning and enable them to maximize their talents.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
