The Role and our Branch
The Finance Systems team are seeking to appoint a highly dedicated and hands-on individual to the role of Principal Systems Officer – Finance Applications Specific Configuration (ASC).

The Principal Systems Officer – Finance ASC is responsible for the administration, maintenance and development of Oracle eBusiness Suite. The successful applicant will work closely with the business areas to analyse business processes to identify and advice opportunities for improvements including efficient and effective use of the system, and design, develop and implement new and enhanced processes through eBusiness Suite. The successful applicant will also provide level 3 technical support including resolution of user problems for various Finance applications including Oracle eBusiness suite and Oracle Apex, and assist in managing and implementing initiatives by liaising with internal & external ICT teams .

- Demonstrated substantial experience in the administration, maintenance, support and development of an Enterprise Resource Planning system, particularly the Oracle eBusiness suite, in a large and complex organisation.
- Demonstrated highly developed innovation, conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills in relation to Enterprise Resource Planning systems and business processes.
- Demonstrated highly developed planning and organisational skills in the management of resources and timelines, including the ability to manage subordinate staff.
- Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to undertake high level consultations, collaborations and negotiations.
- Demonstrated considerable knowledge of, and substantial experience in, financial and accounting principles, concepts and practices.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
