Darkan Primary School (PS) are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and collaborative teacher to join our team.

About the role

The successful applicant will ideally have an understanding in the assess-plan-teach model and experience in using Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI). At Darkan PS we have a whole school instructional model, we use the Teach first Ask questions, Pair share, Pick a Non-volunteer, Listen, Effective feedback (TAPPLE) engagement norms, have non-negotiable Literacy and Numeracy Blocks, use synthetic phonics program Letters and Sounds and engage with data regularly to inform planning. Strength or familiarity with Talk 4 Writing or The Writing Revolution and the Information Computer Technology (ICT) capabilities is desirable.

The successful applicant will ideally be a motivated and reflective teacher who seeks out new opportunities and is focused on their own professional growth. We have an Instructional Coach who will provide valuable feedback on your pedagogy and there is the expectation that we all continually refine and work on our curriculum delivery for greater impact on student learning. You will need a high level of skills and work within a driven team that holds all members to account.

Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment.
