Kinross College will expand to commence its first Year 11 cohort in 2024 and Year 12 in 2025 and we are now looking to add additional staff eager and enthusiastic to help shape this new era for the college. The College offers a variety of high-performance programs for students to develop their talents and engage and increase engagement such as - Basketball, Soccer, Netball specialist programs and Aviation Studies. The Harry Potter themed room supports and extends student literacy and problem solving capacities via a variety of classes and courses.

Kinross College is seeking to appoint a Mathematics Teacher to a permanent position commencing Term 2 2023. Teachers at all stages of their career including new graduates and soon to be graduates are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will work as part of a collaborative and experienced Mathematics team that is friendly and supportive. Applicants should ideally have proven abilities in developing teaching and learning programs, and instructional skills that facilitate improved student outcomes using quality data sources.

Applicants will ideally possess excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills that allow them to build and maintain collaborative and respectful partnerships across the college and the wider community. It is highly sought after that applicants are committed to working with students to differentiate curriculum to support individualised improvement and extension. The ability to adapt with and utilise technology within the Science learning area would be highly regarded and have an understanding of SEQTA would be beneficial. Kinross College incorporates a model of Explicit Instruction as our chosen pedagogy; with a school wide professional learning program in place, applicants should be willing to engage in this Model. The expectation is every teacher is delivering explicit teaching strategies and utilising formative assessment and data analysis to provide quality and effective teaching practices that target students’ needs. To be successful, you should ideally be a student and relationship focused teacher who is highly motivated, innovative, and able to work effectively in a team environment, as well as exhibiting an engaging and energetic teaching style.

Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
