Appointment Pool
Belridge Secondary College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - English for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2024.
English Teachers will be responsible for developing a safe, rewarding, and supportive learning environment for all students. Working in collaboration with other staff, suitable applicants will ideally have a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum – including knowledge of how to plan, deliver and assess engaging and relevant units of work relating to English.
Suitable applicants should have the knowledge and skills necessary to apply a range of engaging teaching strategies and develop a positive classroom learning environment. Teachers at Belridge SC are dedicated and intrinsically motivated educators, who have the ability to develop and differentiate high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students including SAER students with challenging behaviours. Suitable applicants will ideally be able to teach students of varying ability levels across Year 7 to 12 in a highly engaging manner. Experience or the ability to teach ATAR English is desirable.
Suitable applicants should be able to display skills and experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students. They will ideally be relationship focused, promote an environment of engagement and collaboration, and have demonstrated experience in working with disengaged students. They will ideally engage with the College Business Plan and will actively forward whole school priorities. The use of the College’s R LEARNERS Teaching & Learning Framework is consistently used in lesson planning and programs. Staff at the College are reflective practitioners who engage in classroom observations and Triads to promote good practice. They will also ideally display strong interpersonal skills and provide effective examples of teamwork, as well as high levels of professional conduct, communication, and integrity.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
