Appointment Pool
Eastern Hills Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Mathematics for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2024.
Suitable applicants should be passionate teachers of Mathematics, with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. Suitable applicants will ideally possess professional knowledge, practice, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary Mathematics curriculum using a positive, student-focused approach, and should have success working with students across a range of ability levels.
The ability to differentiate curriculum and implement innovative approaches to improve outcomes for both high and low achieving students is a key element to this position. Suitable applicants will ideally be able to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching. They should incorporate current and emerging technologies to best meet the needs of our students.

In addition, they should have the ability to promote an environment of active and positive learning; and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their very best.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
