This is a ten (10) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 2, 2023 

Bullsbrook College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher.

To be suitable you will ideally be able to support the implementation of the school business plan, to work and teach in a team environment, be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives and have strong evidence-based teaching approach. We are seeking applicants who can create a learning environment that is differentiated, caring, and creative and that caters for the range of needs so all students may achieve and progress.

As a teacher at our College you will ideally inspire passion for learning in others and enjoy a real sense of achievement. At Bullsbrook College, we believe it is the quality of the teacher that is the critical factor in ensuring positive outcomes for all students. Creating strong positive relationships with students, staff and parents, as well as a commitment to developing behaviour education and self-management in students are key characteristics suitable applicants should ideally encompass.

The school is located 15 minutes north of the Swan Valley and 30 minutes from northern suburbs such as Joondalup. A large, friendly, community-focused school, we have a strong commitment to building pride and excellence and preserving the high quality of student behaviour and relationships. The environment is a dynamic one in which to work.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification – even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying.   • meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.

TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
