Woodvale Secondary College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of Mathematics Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2024.
We currently have the following position available:
- One (1) x - permanent full-time position
- One (1) x - fixed-term part time position
This position will commence Term 2, 2023
As a Mathematics Teacher you will participate as an integral member of the Mathematics learning area and be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students suited to the needs of the school community, and modelling exemplary teaching and learning strategies in your delivery. As such, suitable applicants will ideally possess a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, ideally having knowledge of and experience in, a range of instructional strategies and tactics.
Suitable applicants should be dedicated and highly motivated educators with excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, deliver content in an engaging manner and be highly effective team members. Strong knowledge and skills in the delivery of one or more Senior Secondary courses is desirable. As reflective practitioners, suitable applicants should possess effective data literacy and a capacity to modify their practice to meet identified student needs. The capacity to engage in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, including integration of information technology into the curriculum, will be highly regarded.
Suitable applicants should also have a working knowledge of contemporary use of technology for teaching and learning. Our students have state of the art facilities and our new Academic Extension and Enrichment program in STEM is a new and exciting opportunity to engage students in Mathematics in real world contexts.

Woodvale SC is located some 20 kilometres north of the city of Perth and has approximately 1400 students from Years 7 to 12. The College enjoys the expertise of highly trained staff and the stability of small staff turnover. In recent years the College has provided many nominations for the WA Education Awards.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
