Teachers and school administrators employed at Jungdranung Remote Community School in 2023 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $5,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Our School
Jungdranung RCS is a small, well-resourced school in the scenic East Kimberley. Students are keen to learn, and parents and caregivers are supportive. The surrounding countryside offers opportunities for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits such as fishing, bush walking, exploring, photography and bird watching.
The Location and Community
Jungdranung RCS is located 132 km southeast of Kununurra in Miriwoong tribal land in the East Kimberley, amidst the spectacular Ragged Range in the Mandangala Community on Glen Hill Station. Opened as a 'Special Aboriginal School' in 1984, the small school is an integral part of the community.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
