Appointment Pool
Marri Grove Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of committed and passionate Teachers - Kindergarten to Year 6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2024.
At Marri Grove PS we have a focus on ensuring a highly engaging learning environment through an emphasis on the Science of Teaching and Learning and the use of Explicit Instruction.
To be suitable in this role, you should display your experience in working collaboratively within a team, focused on school wide programs and processes. You should also display how you support and cater for all students’ learning needs in the classroom so that they are successful. Marri Grove PS is situated south of Armadale along the Southwest Highway in Byford. The school currently has over 550 students, enrolled from Kindergarten through to Year 6. The school offers specialist programs in Science, Health and Physical Education, The Arts, and Indonesian.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification – even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
