We are seeking an innovative and proactive teacher who will eagerly take on the challenges of a multi-age classroom (Year 3 to 6) through the implementation of a diverse and engaging curriculum for our students. Knowledge and experience in Explicit Instruction, Sounds Write and Brightpath would be advantageous but not required.

The successful applicant will ideally be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of highly effective teaching strategies specifically in high impact instruction as well as the ability to understand and use student and whole school performance data effectively to inform planning and differentiation across all year levels.

The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent interpersonal skills, be a highly proficient classroom teacher and be capable of engaging and motivating students to achieve their academic, social and emotional potential.

The successful applicant will ideally possess a strong capacity to plan challenging and engaging programs using a thorough knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum. You should be committed to improving the literacy and numeracy outcomes of every child, every day, though our whole school approaches to explicit teaching, and instructional strategies. Experience in teaching the specialist areas of Physical Education and Digital Technologies is desirable.

The successful applicant will ideally be highly reflective in teaching practices and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation. You should promote a school culture focused on continuous reflection, feedback, and improvement. You will work in teams to collaborate, moderate, and develop programs of work that meet individual student needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external networks to establish strong community partnerships are highly desirable. You should have a growth mindset, team focus, strong interpersonal skills and be a lifelong learner.

Scaddan PS is a Level 3 primary school, catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. It has a caring and positive environment. Scaddan PS is situated 50 km from Esperance on the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. The student population is drawn from the Scaddan and Grass Patch farming communities. Students come from surrounding farms and travel some distance on one of two buses servicing the school.

Scaddan is a small rural town in Western Australia located 783 kilometres east of Perth. It is known for beautiful natural attractions and wildflowers.
