Exciting opportunity to teach as a part of our exceptional English Department in Western Australia’s beautiful Pilbara region.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Hedland Senior High School in 2023 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $10,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Teachers in Hedland SHS's English team are focused on creating outstanding outcomes for students and empowering every student who enters our classrooms. We are a collaborative team who are close knit and supportive in a way that only a high-quality regional school can be. Our practice is data driven to ensure year on year improvement for our students.

In this role, the successful applicants demonstrates excellence and/or the desire to teach English at both a high-end Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) level, as well as quality literacy instruction to empower students from diverse and challenging backgrounds. Collaborative practice is a key asset to our team’s success, and the applicants would need to be willing to learn from, and share their experience with, other members of the team.
