The Swimming and Water Safety branch is seeking to establish a pool for dedicated Program Coordinator - Swimming for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2023 and up to the end of February 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2023, up to the end of February 2024.

The Role and our Branch
The Service Delivery – Statewide Services Division is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Program Coordinators to join the Swimming and Water Safety Branch.

Swimming and Water Safety is responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of the Interm and VacSwim swimming programs that promote vital swimming and water safety skills for children aged 5 – 17.
As a Program Coordinator – Swimming, you will be responsible for the provision of human resources, coordination, development, and management of programs at venues across the State to ensure the successful delivery of the Department of Education swimming and water safety education programs. The role requires a high level of stakeholder engagement and experience working with databases and Microsoft office application.
Suitable applicants will work closely with other Program Coordinators – Swimming and ideally possess the ability to review and refine program related policies and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness and client experience.

- Demonstrated well developed program coordination and management skills and experience in planning, implementing, enhancing and evaluating programs.
- Demonstrated well developed knowledge and experience in human resource management, including planning, scheduling, development, performance management and recruitment.
- Demonstrated well developed written communication skills and the ability to prepare and maintain accurate detailed reports.
- Demonstrated well developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to work collaboratively within a program coordination team and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels in a high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrated well developed understanding of and experience working with databases, including Microsoft office applications.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
