Greenwood College is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Mathematics Teachers to join their friendly team.
We currently have the following positions available:
- 2 x – permanent full-time positions
All positions will commence Term 2, 2023
The successful applicants will ideally be dynamic and dedicated Mathematics specialists with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. The role requires extensive knowledge of the Western Australian Mathematics Curriculum. Applicants will preferably have experience teaching 11/12 ATAR Mathematics Methods and Applications courses and be able to plan for and instruct students in academic extension programs as well as students at academic risk.
The successful applicants will ideally possess the professional knowledge, practices, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary Mathematics curriculum using a positive, student-focused approach, embedding ICT practices into programming and have proven success working with students across a range of ability levels, including multi-age groups.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships are also desirable. As the successful applicants, you will ideally be relationship focused with a consistent and transparent classroom management approach. You should be enthusiastic, seek opportunities for innovation and leadership, and desirably have the proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
