Yulga Jinna Remote Community School (RCS) is looking for a passionate individual to join their school as a Primary Teacher teaching Kindergarten to Year 4.

About the role
As a Primary teacher in Yulga Jinna (RCS) you will be teaching in a multi-age group classroom consisting of students from Kindergarten to Year 4. We are seeking an applicant who is prepared to do Professional Learning in Teachwell, Promoting Literacy Development (PLD) and Trauma Training.
The successful applicant will ideally be a passionate, motivated, and skilled educator who is committed to improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every child, every day, through our whole school approaches, explicit teaching, and instructional strategies. The successful applicant will ideally be innovative and possess high quality teaching skills and knowledge. They will ideally be committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and be collegial, effective collaborators.
It is highly desirable that the successful applicant has a sound understanding of the cultural context of Yulga Jinna Community and the importance of a positive relationship between the school and community and agree to follow the Yulga Jinna RCS and Yulga Jinna Community Agreement.
Due to the isolation of Yulga Jinna RCS and lack of public transport the successful applicant will need to have their own transport, a 2WD vehicle will be suitable as roads are in good condition.
Yulga Jinna is a small Aboriginal community in the Murchison Mid-West Region. Yulga Jinna, which means Flat Foot, is located 130kms northwest of Meekatharra. All students in the school are Aboriginal, with Aboriginal English being their first language.
Yulga Jinna was one of the first communities to have a School Community Partnership created in 2005 that clearly states the roles and responsibilities between the community and the school. The Yulga Jinna Community is very proud of their school and are proactive in all aspects of school operations.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
