The Role and our Branch
Our Housing and Transport team supports teachers and other eligible staff by delivering a supported relocation and housing program. Our work helps to attract and retain quality staff in our regional and remote school locations.
Our team support teachers by:
- Allocating subsided housing to teachers
- Monitoring housing vacancy levels and assessing needs for additional housing
- Relocating teachers and their families
- Calculating and arranging associated Award allowances and reimbursements.
About the role
Working within a challenging WA rental market, this position provides direction and guidance to a dedicated team who support our school staff by working to find relocation and housing solutions.
An immediate priority of the role will be to build professional relationships with our stakeholders, including seeking, collating and analysing feedback from teachers and school leaders in regional and remote school locations around the quality of housing and transport service delivery.

As a large public sector agency with significant housing priorities, you will need to demonstrate strong organisational skills, knowledge of work systems, a positive and professional approach to your work and team, and a willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
You will have a background in providing operational services to a large client base through using a wide variety of policies, processes and procedures.

Note: All leave is very restricted for all members of our team during our peak teacher housing changeover period, 1 November to 28 February annually.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
