Armadale Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a dynamic and motivated Design and Technologies Teacher to join their exceptional team.
About Armadale Senior High School
Situated just under 30 kilometres south of Perth, Armadale SHS is a proud Independent Public School that services a diverse student population. The school offers highly enriched pathways for students depending on their skills, needs and interests. This includes the ‘Aspire’ academic extension program, as well as Department of Education-endorsed Specialist Programs in the Visual Arts & Technologies. About the position
The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic achievement in a supportive environment where success is celebrated.
You should be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, innovative, and able to work effectively in a team environment, as well as displaying an engaging and energetic teaching style. The successful applicant should reflect on and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice using a variety of methods available, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential.
Ideally, the successful applicant will have experience in a wide range of teaching models and differentiating the curriculum. Adopting inclusive practices, building positive relationships with students, staff and the community are also important components of the role. Excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and the capacity to teach students of varying ability levels, across Years 7 to 12 in a highly engaging manner is highly desirable.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
