Woodanilling Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated, organised and highly motivated Manager Corporate Services to join our team.
About the Role
As the Manager Corporate Services (MCS) you will be responsible to the Principal for the financial, physical and human resource aspects of the school's business operations and the supervision of all school support staff. You will also monitor and report on the financial integrity of the school's operations, provide operational input to financial planning and budgeting, including the diverse funding entities for which the school is responsible.
The ability to Provide operational input to the development of the financial aspects of the school business and marketing plans and monitor the school’s performance against the plans along with participating in school-based and regional committees and working groups to ensure alignment with the school's business targets and objectives are important aspects of the role.
As MCS you will monitor and manage staff leave entitlements to ensure accrued leave is cleared within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with relevant awards, agreements and Departmental policy. The successful applicant will also manage staff performance in accordance with the Public Sector Performance Management Standard and Departmental policy.
The successful applicant will work as part of a team in a busy and dynamic school environment. As such, you should be an efficient, enthusiastic independent team member. The flexibility to move between tasks and deliver outcomes while working to deadlines in a complex and fast paced environment is highly desirable. You will ideally be flexible and reliable and have excellent conceptual, interpersonal, communication, staff management and problem-solving skills. The successful applicant will display effective interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence with an ability to develop constructive, respectful and positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
About our School
Woodanilling is a dynamic, rural primary school located between Katanning and Wagin, in the Great Southern Wheatbelt region. Our students are motivated, our staff dedicated and our school nurturing.
The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 4. Students benefit from a multi-aged classroom that is well supported by committed and hard-working education assistants; and qualified, experienced teachers. The small class size allows for individualised programs, authentic relationships and continuity of learning.
The school is comprised of three main structures; an administration building, classroom and library, and all buildings are fitted with reverse-cycle air-conditioning. The spacious classroom has two sections; a formal learning environment with interactive whiteboard and a large, multi-purpose wet area with kitchen facilities. The classroom is tailored to support holistic development of the individual child. The library is well-resourced and offers flexible seating arrangements; a research/study area and is also fitted with an interactive whiteboard.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the application of customer service principles and practices.
- Financial management skills, including input into budget preparation and the ability to apply financial and accounting practices and procedures.
- Human resource management skills, including the ability to develop and/or apply human resource management practices and systems.
- Ability to implement and monitor business and/or marketing plans.
- Conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
