The Southwest Regional Education Office (REO) is seeking a Coordinator Regional Operations to join their team.

The Coordinator Regional Operations provides professional, administrative and operational support to the Regional Executive Director. A major responsibility of this role is the implementation of system-wide strategies and programs which provides support to schools. This position works alongside and in conjunction with the Coordinator Regional Services.
The Coordinator Regional Operations will establish effective formal and informal liaison networks with other agencies, schools, the wider community, industry and political groups to assist in the development of a positive public image for the Department and the Regional Office, as well as ensuring that the level of advice and information provided maintains and enhances the public profile of education. The Coordinator Regional Operations is the first point of contact for schools in their dealings with the Regional office.
Capacity to work as part of a team and demonstrate skill flexibility and agility to undertake a variety of roles and responsibilities as part of an energetic high performing regional office staff is critical. Collaboration and cooperation with and across regional portfolios is essential.
The Southwest REO is one of eight regional offices located across the State. Regional offices and local education offices are staffed as determined by the Regional Executive Director, in accordance with local context and needs. All officers appointed to regional offices and local education offices are responsible for supporting schools in the regions by promoting system initiatives and providing support and quality assurance to enhance the outcomes of schooling.

- Demonstrated highly developed leadership and strategic planning skills with the ability to coordinate and promote a shared understanding of the regional office role.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate strategies and projects to improve regional level support to schools.
- Demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to identify and analyse issues and generate appropriate strategies.
- Demonstrated extensive written and oral communication and public relations skills, including preparation of reports and briefings.
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and productive relationships and undertake negotiations, consultations and conflict resolution.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
