Provide administration support to support our public-school reviews
We are seeking to establish a pool Consultants (Schools Review) for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2023 and will be made based on business needs.
The Role and our Branch
If you are a motivated and organised individual who can coordinate, monitor and contribute to the preparation and review of briefing papers, correspondence, budgets and reports in an accurate and timely manner, then we are looking for you.
As part of the Public-School Accountability team, you will contribute to maintaining public school review documentation, whilst collating review information for Directors, Public School Review, and preparing reports. Experience with databases and spreadsheets will enable you to conduct data analysis, including interpreting data, analysing trends and making recommendations.
With well-developed communication skills, you will consult, collaborate and negotiate with Public School Accountability team members and external stakeholders.

The Public-School Accountability directorate has a specific role to conduct reviews to provide assurance that a school is operating effectively and delivering high-quality education to its students. Public School Reviews are conducted in all Western Australian public schools. School self-assessments are submitted electronically and considered by a review team comprised of a Director and a Principal peer reviewer. The review team conduct a school-based validation visit and a report is prepared reflecting the school's submission, planning intentions and confirming the review return timeframe. The Public-School Accountability directorate also undertakes commissioned processes, such as targeted reviews.

- Demonstrated operational planning skills including the ability to coordinate, monitor, report and contribute to strategic outcomes.
- Demonstrated well developed data management skills, including data analysis and reporting, and the ability to interpret data, analyse trends and make recommendations.
- Demonstrated well developed written communication and editorial skills with considerable experience in the preparation of reports, briefings and correspondence.
- Demonstrated well developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively consult, collaborate and negotiate within a team environment and with stakeholders at a senior level.
- Demonstrated considerable knowledge and understanding of trends, initiatives and developments that impact on school performance.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
