As such the successful applicant will have some specific industry skills in the enterprise area and will have (or be supported to develop) a range of generic skills applicable to other farm enterprises.
In the position of Roving Technical Officer, you will be supporting various locations for periods of between 3 to 6 weeks before moving to the next destination – each location is unique and the role may be varied, so perfect for the individual who loves to meet new people, increase their professional networks, and experience new challenges.
Return travel and accommodation for the successful applicant if required will be included in this position.
Our students are our next generation of farmers and industry leaders, and we are looking for the right person with the right attitude (with or without the usual qualifications) to help them get there.
The usual qualifications needed for this job are a Certificate III in Agriculture, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. However, if you don’t have these but have experience, we are still eager to hear from you. We are willing to appoint you to the appropriate level in line with your current qualifications and experience, whilst we help you to study for the qualifications needed within the first 6 to 12 months of your employment.
So, there are no surprises, you should know that the work hours at these locations can vary as our Agricultural Technical Officers share in weekend and after hours’ overtime. They are paid 150 hours of commuted overtime per year, equating to an additional 15% salary on top of the base rate.
