Kinross College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Associate Principal to work closely alongside the Principal and the executive team to deliver on our ambition and to ensure our programs are challenging and innovative and deliver educational excellence for all our students. Kinross College will expand to commence its first Year 11 cohort in 2024 and Year 12 in 2025. This is a new position and a key aspect of this role initially will be to prepare for the additional senior schooling curriculum and offerings within the college.
The Associate Principal – Senior School will have responsibility for managing the enrolment, pastoral care, and academic achievement of all Senior School students (Years 10, 11 and 12). As a member of the college executive team, they will ideally have strong leadership skills, the capacity to provide a strategic direction for staff, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. The successful applicant should have a comprehensive understanding of School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) processes, Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) requirements and Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS). They should also have the capacity to analyse and monitor student achievement data using Reporting to Parents (RTP), the Student Information Records System (SIRS) and the Student Achievement Information System (SAIS) to ensure appropriate strategies and interventions are in place to ensure all students are supported in their studies.

The expanding enrolment numbers over recent years, indicate the numerous specialist academic and sporting programs offered by the College, are resulting in the College becoming a highly preferred public-school option. Many parents are now choosing Kinross College over a wide range of private school alternatives.
The College continues to upgrade its facilities. A third round of recently completed upgrades, will support the future expansion into upper school, as well as resulting in outstanding student and staff facilities.
Please note that due to the time of the year, there can be a flexible start date in negotiation with the successful applicant and their current workplace if required.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings.
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes.
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
