Yanchep Secondary College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of English Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2024.
Suitable applicants should have proven abilities in learning program planning and instructional practice to facilitate improved student outcomes. We are seeking teachers who are ideally strong team players who support improvement in teaching and learning in a Senior High School environment. You will model a culture of self-reflection and engagement in coaching that promotes your professional growth.
Yanchep SC is committed to providing young people with a high quality and comprehensive education that allows our students and teachers to reach their potential. We have programs for students from Year 7 to 12 with many pathways for students to succeed, including university, further training, or employment. Our college buildings have recently been completed and future buildings are planned.

You will support the English Learning Area team to strategically meet the learning needs of all students studying English curriculum, including students with disabilities and special needs.

You should also possess exceptional interpersonal, organisational, and instructional skills as you support the English Learning Area through the College's School Improvement agenda. To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
