Carine Senior High (SHS) is seeking a proactive, dedicated and innovative individual to join their leadership team in the role of Program Coordinator – Careers, Pathways and Transitions.
Carine SHS is a school of choice in the northern suburbs of Perth. The Program Coordinator – Career, Pathways and Transitions will provide educational leadership in the development, implementation, and management of sustainable programs and opportunities for students. The successful applicant should have exemplary interpersonal skills and use effective change management strategies to lead the Carine community to continually reflect on practices and data to develop opportunities for engagement and improvement. The successful applicant will develop and maintain positive partnerships with students, staff, parents, and community members.
The Program Coordinator – Career, Pathways and Transitions will support the career development of students ensuring they are in successful educational pathways. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring teacher with an interest in student career pathways. You will work with the school leadership team and embed career development activities into curricular and co-curricular programs.
You should be innovative, work collaboratively across a school implementing programs and providing resources to embed career development across learning areas. We are looking for a leader that enjoys working with students to help them imagine and connect with their future career aspirations. Teachers in this specialist role will ideally be competent in the interpretation and analysis of system and school-based data.
To be competitive for this role, a high level of knowledge about the diversity of career pathways, with an understanding of school contexts in relation to local employers, community agencies and training providers is desirable. You will be expected to have strong communication skills and be able to liaise with and share information easily with students, staff, parents, training providers, employers and industry.
A recognised Graduate Certificate in Career Development would be considered desirable

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
