This is a six (6) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2023 with possible extension and/or permanency
Boddington District High School (DHS) is seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic individual to join their friendly and dedicated team as Teacher - Secondary – Year 7 to Year 10.
Depending on the successful applicant’s skills, knowledge or interest the secondary learning areas could include Visual Arts, Food Technology, Sport and Recreation, Health, Music, Media or Digital Technologies.
The position is fulltime however, applicants who wish to job share or work part-time, are strongly encouraged to apply. This position would suit applicants who are seeking to teach a specialised learning area combined with the flexibility of working part-time.
It would also suit applicants who are seeking fulltime work teaching a variety of learning areas. Applicants with primary teaching experience who are interested in teaching secondary are also encouraged to apply.
The successful applicant will ideally be student and relationship focused, enthusiastic, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. The learning environment they create should be engaging, challenging, and caring, and cater for the range of needs which will see all students making progress.

Located 120 kilometres south-east of Perth, Boddington DHS offers courses from Kindergarten to Year 10. We attract students from the local community as well as students from Quindanning, Wandering, Bannister and Crossman. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
