Appointment Pool
Standards and Integrity are seeking to establish a pool of Senior Assessment Officer for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2023 and up until the end of June, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2023 up to the end of June, 2024.
The Role and our Branch
The Senior Assessment Officer is required to independently assess complaints and notifications made to the Standards and Integrity Directorate, including sensitive and complex matters, making considered recommendations for resolution with respect to Departmental Policies and Procedures.

The position mentors and provides guidance to Assessment Officers in order to resolve complaints and notifications in a timely manner.
As a Senior Assessment Officer, you will demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate outcomes to a broad range of stakeholders in relation to concerns of misconduct.
The position manages a demanding and varied caseload and actively collaborate with other areas of the Department to influence and support strategic directions of the Professional Standards and Conduct Division.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment and yearly thereafter
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- hold a current C class drivers licence
- travel intrastate as required
- complete a declaration prior to employment and annually thereafter disclosing any previous disciplinary findings, criminal charges or convictions, and ongoing conflicts of interest
- provide a statement from previous employer/s with regard to any disciplinary findings
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
