The role and our branch
We are looking for a dynamic communications all-rounder who has creative flair, a “can do” approach, loves meaningful and varied work, and thrives from being part of an energetic and collaborative team.
Working as part of a newly formed digital team, you’ll have a range of responsibilities that will include:
- writing clear and engaging content for our websites, intranet and social media platforms
- creating and editing authentic and meaningful video and photography for use across digital communications channels
- collaborating with the Communications team and cross functionally with a range of key stakeholders to coordinate and evaluate digital communications
- analysing data and developing content strategies that ensure strategic communication goals are met
- managing content on our digital platforms in line with policies and processes and digital best practice
- monitoring and moderating social media
- monitoring and reporting on website, intranet and social media performance and contributing to the continuous improvement of the same
- contributing to the timely delivery of communication and engagement support as directed by the Manager Digital Content.
Working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, you will need a high level of attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Experience in using design programs such as InDesign and Premier Pro, social media management tools such as Sprout and Hootsuite, and content management systems will be an advantage.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
