About the Role
We are seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to lead the Kindilink program and increase the engagement of parents in the early learning program and children’s readiness for school.
This role will suit someone who is relationship-focused, highly motivated, and passionate about creating exciting, culturally responsive learning experiences to ignite a desire to learn in students.
The Ideal Teacher
The successful applicant will ideally possess outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff, and the wider community. You should be highly motivated and implement high quality, engaging and effective learning programs. Experience and skills in evidence-based literacy teaching pedagogies are desirable. Experience of explicit targeted teaching/Explicit Instruction and experience in, or knowledge of, the Kimberley Schools Project (KSP) would be highly desirable.
The successful applicant will ideally be trained in, or willing to be trained in, the Abecedarian Approach and open to coaching. You should be committed to two-way teaching and have experience in trauma-informed practices.
The successful applicant will ideally create an inclusive, supportive, and stimulating learning environment. You should promote a positive learning environment and support our school priority of strengthening Early Childhood Education. You will ideally be committed to Aboriginal Education and living and working in a remote location, understanding the challenges of working remotely.
You will ideally have a strong work ethic, be flexible and open to change, and continuously strive to achieve. You should engage in data-informed practice and ongoing self-reflection.
In the first instance, only applicants with teaching qualifications will be considered. Where there are no suitable applicants with teaching qualifications, applicants without teaching qualifications may be considered.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
