About the role
As a Secondary Generalist Teacher, the successful applicant will ideally possess the capacity to provide a learning environment that is caring, engaging and differentiated to cater for a range of learning needs. You will ideally have the ability to deliver the Western Australian Curriculum and have an excellent understanding of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework. We seek teachers who have strong classroom management and skills to engage students successfully.
The successful applicant should be motivated and committed to creating an engaging, inclusive and challenging learning environment; based on high accountability and sound expectations to ensure all students achieve their maximum potential. You will ideally be flexible, have a strong work ethic and develop positive, productive partnerships with students, colleagues and the community.

Just under three hours' drive south east of Perth and two and a half hours west of Bunbury, Wagin is a Wheatbelt farming hub, with a thriving Merino stud industry and rich early-settler heritage. Or hit the 10.5 kilometre Wait-Jen Trail that meanders past four lakes on the Coblinine River, with interpretive signs providing a window into local Nyoongar culture, flora and fauna.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
