Teachers and school administrators employed at East Kimberley College in 2023 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $17,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
About the role
EKC is seeking a highly skilled, dedicated, energetic and motivated teacher, capable of providing high quality learning experiences for our students, to fill the position of Teacher – English. The successful applicant will display a thorough understanding of the content and standards of the Western Australian Curriculum and be experienced in teaching up to and including Year 12 ATAR English.
The ability and willingness to teach in HaSS, if required, and to work as a team member with colleagues in supporting the development and continuation of the school’s ethos and educational programmes are also vital skills for this position.
The successful applicant will also be cognizant of the Professional Learning and Performance Framework that embraces the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST). KDHS use this as the point of reference to underpin all collaborative professional dialogue within the School.
The successful applicant will work as part of a dedicated team and have the opportunity to make lasting contributions to our school community. With effective interpersonal skills, suitable applicants will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for our students.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
