Three Springs Primary School (PS) is seeking a motivated and dedicated Cleaner – Working Alone to join their friendly team.

About the Role
As a Cleaner – Working Alone you would carry out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal and other items of general cleaning. In addition to this, you would also carry out external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandas and covered areas, rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, window cleaning, removal of cobwebs and other general cleaning duties to give the school's hygiene a high priority. You will also be responsible for opening and locking the school premises including setting the security system.
We are seeking individuals who can provide and maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment throughout the school. Suitable applicants will be required to be punctual, reliable and organised, with an attention to detail. We are looking for people who are self-motivated and can use initiative and work efficiently unsupervised.
About the school
Three Springs is a small country town (approx 900 people) in the mid west of Western Australia, with a unique mix of grain and grazing, mining and government industries within the Shire. With the close proximity to the beautiful central coastline Three Springs is enjoyed by both residents and visitors alike.
The town has a general store/hardware/newsagency, butcher, post office, bank, boutique/drapery store, two service stations, hotel and much more. There are active community groups including Lions, Tidy Towns, Red Cross, FESA and RSL. Sport plays an important role within our community and some of the sports are Football, Netball, Hockey, Tennis, Lawn Bowl, Golf and Swimming to name a few.

Eligibility and Training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
And complete the Department’s:
- Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
- Induction program within three months of commencement.
- Online training in manual tasks and hazardous substances within three months of commencement.
- Fundamentals of Cleaning training as soon as practicable.
- Training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
- Training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
The Department applies a ten (10) day breach period to this selection process.
