Appointment Pool
Nollamara Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.

As School Officer, suitable applicants will be the first point of contact for our school and will be responsible for completing administrative duties including greeting all visitors in a friendly manner, answering the telephone and responding to routine enquiries and requests for information. You should model effective and quality customer and administrative support service delivery and use excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work in collaboration with the administration team, school support staff, our school community and teaching staff. Many of our families speak a language other than English so an ability to communicate using interpreters is important too.
Suitable applicants will provide general clerical and administrative support, including sourcing and maintaining registers, preparing correspondence, newsletters, notices, reports and maintaining filing and information systems which require excellent computer skills using word processing and data software packages. Suitable applicants will also manage and maintain student enrolments, daily attendance, coordination and negotiation of maintenance and repairs of school facilities, assets and resources, maintain and order office supplies, distribute and collect documents, forms and mail, assist with the induction of new employees and collect and receipt monies in accordance with Departmental procedures. The role also includes the coordination of Intensive English Centre (IEC) student enrolments as well as coordination of IEC buses. Applicants will ideally have knowledge of Student Information System (SIS), Connect, MGM Outreach+, Working With Children, RM Billing and RM Finance.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling
- of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and /or preparing financial returns.
- Ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including application of customer service principles and practices.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course; and
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
