Teachers and School Administrators employed at Holland Street School in 2023 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $5000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
Holland Street School are seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.

Holland Street School is located in Geraldton city, and we host students from Kindy to Year 13.
Suitable applicants will ideally be enthusiastic and dedicated to teaching students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, autism and sensory impairment. The school is organised in four phases: Early Years, Primary, Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary.
Suitable applicants should demonstrate an understanding of evidence-based practice and specialist education support pedagogy. We are seeking applicants in all phases of schooling, and DOTT provision. Applications from graduate teachers are encouraged.
Teachers who are proficient in Early Intervention, evidenced based Literacy and Numeracy programs, Applied Behavioural Analysis, Alternative Augmentative Communication strategies, Functional Behaviour Analysis, Positive Behaviour Support, Protective Behaviours, Social Skills, Independent Living Skills, Work Place Learning and preparation for life post-school are encouraged to apply.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
