About the Role
We are seeking a teacher who has outstanding interpersonal skills with a natural ability to communicate effectively and build genuine relationships with parents, students, and staff members. The successful applicant should quickly establish a positive and welcoming classroom environment with high expectations and a growth mindset, while building students’ positive social and emotional skills.
The successful applicant will ideally possess effective teaching skills, be highly motivated and hold themselves accountable to delivering best practice. Ideally, the successful applicant will take advantage of high impact teaching strategies and have proven experience in the planning and delivery of engaging programs with a particular focus on explicit instruction.

Wyndham DHS caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Secondary students have the opportunity to participate in programs designed to develop leadership, social-emotional development and work skills such as the Bushranger Cadets and the Horsemanship Program, both supported by local Aboriginal Corporations, Ngnowar Aerwah Aboriginal Corporation and Balanggarra.

Wyndham is located 100 km from Kununurra and has a population of approximately 800 people. It is surrounded by some of the Kimberley’s most spectacular landforms, rivers and wetlands, offering a host of outback adventures.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
