Comet Bay College (CBC) is seeking a suitably qualified, passionate and committed Humanities and Social Sciences Teacher (HASS) to join our team.
The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to work across Years 7 to 12 and bring their expertise to the Learning Area, applying their knowledge of the HASS Courses and experience in teaching Senior School Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) HASS to help our students achieve outstanding results. The successful applicant preferably needs to have experience in successfully teaching Senior School Psychology.

You should reflect and assess the effectiveness of your teaching practice using a variety of methods available within the College, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. With effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
At CBC the staff facilities are excellent and each Learning Area is fully equipped and spacious, with each teacher having access to their own iPad. CBC is a Gifted and Talented school and also has extension pathways in English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities and Social Sciences Years 7 to 10.

CBC is a modern innovative Independent Public School that caters for Year 7 to 12 students and is located one kilometre from the coast, in the vibrant community of Secret Harbour. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
