Samson Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teacher to the Specialised Learning Program for Students with Autism (SLP-ASD) for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
The Autism Specialist Teacher is required to adopt evidence-based practice and pedagogy to meet the diverse range of needs of students with ASD, whilst having knowledge of and ability to apply Western Australian curriculum.
Suitable applicants will ideally have a strong knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum structure and content, as well as a focus on differentiating the curriculum. They should be highly motivated, student and relationship focused and dedicated to creating a safe and caring environment required for optimal learning to take place. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
