We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
Ridge View Secondary College is an Independent Public School’s (IPS) seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic literacy and numeracy specialist with excellent interpersonal skills. Ridge View is a new and growing college which has years 7 to 10 in 2022 and will be catering for the first Year 11 cohort in 2023.
Suitable applicants should be committed to improving literacy and numeracy progress and fostering student engagement in a supportive environment where success is celebrated. There is opportunity to contribute to the planning and design of upper school pathways and courses in preparation for upper school students. Flexibility in a new and growing college is desirable, as well as a commitment to personal and professional growth. Instructional coaching, observation and feedback are a priority for the college and therefore we are seeking a teacher that will ideally have a growth mindset and a desire for continuous improvement. Suitable applicants should have high standards of professionalism and will embrace opportunities for collaboration within and beyond the college community. The ability to work positively and effectively in teams and be open to new thinking is highly desirable.
Suitable applicants will ideally have in depth knowledge of diagnostic testing and intervention programs, and have the ability to teach across English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities and Social Science to lower secondary classes identified as needing intensive literacy and numeracy support. It would be highly desirable for applicants to have the ability to provide significant curriculum differentiation. As an expert practitioner you should display commitment to excellence in teaching, ensuring the learning needs of all students are met. It is intended that all students will have a meaningful and appropriate Individual Education Plan that not only outlines functional curriculum objectives but supports the whole child through targeted social and life skills. Knowledge of SEN RTP, Back 2 Front Maths and CMS is desirable.
Suitable applicants will support the development of innovative classroom practices utilising effective information technologies to provide integrated, personalised, authentic and relevant learning experiences for students. A commitment to the college’s emphasis on pastoral care and co-curricular programs will be highly desirable as well as active promotion of the college’s vision, motto and values within the college and the wider community. A key indicator of success of the program will be positivity and engagement from students and parents.
Ridge View Secondary College is a new and distinctive secondary college with state of the art facilities located in South Baldivis. The college opened in 2019 and will cater for students in Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 in 2022. By 2024 the college will cater for students in Years 7 to 12.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
