This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2023.
Greenwood College is seeking to appoint a dedicated and well organised Head of Learning Area – Science to join our dynamic leadership team.
In this role, you will be a key member of the school leadership team. You will ideally be able to build positive professional relationships, be an expert classroom practitioner with a passion for Science and excellence in teaching. In partnership with teachers, you will continue building a culture of quality teaching across the learning area that supports the learning needs of all students. You will ideally have the experience in leading curriculum development. You should share a commitment to our community that every child will receive a high-quality education and leave our College with choices and opportunities for the future.

- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course; and
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
